As a way to continually improve the work environment and production processes at Miles Kimball Company, the organization practices the principals found in the Kimball Improvement and EXcellence System (KIXS). The goal of the system is to improve business performance, increase customer satisfaction, and enhance the operating culture of the company. Team members play an active role in the KIXS model. Team members are expected to provide input to management regarding ways to meet the goals of the program. Management in turn is expected to provide leadership for the improvement process, by providing an environment in which team members are given responsibility and ongoing training to make the improvements become reality.
